An upcoming Sony PlayStation sale called the “Days of Play” sale will offer discounts on the PS4 hardware and games. In addition, there will be a brand new limited-edition model of the PlayStation 4 unveiled. The limited-edition PS4 will be known as the “Days of Play” edition and features a sharp blue and gold design on the platform and controllers.
According to Forbes, Sony will make the limited-edition PS4 available on June 8th, but only as supplies last. The new model which is blue with gold symbols on the console will cost $299.99 in US dollars or $379.99 Canadian. The special limited-edition model will be a Slim model of the console which has a built-in 1 terabyte hard drive and includes one game controller with it. That gamepad is also blue with a gold PlayStation logo on the touchpad.
As far as the Days of Play sale goes, it is scheduled to start on June 8th and run through June 18th. The sale will feature PlayStation VR bundles starting at $199.99 US or $249.99 Canadian, as well as the Jet Black PS4 Pro for $349.99 US ($449.99 Canadian). The Dualshock 4 wireless controllers in all colors will be $39.99, while the PlayStation VR Aim controller will be $49.99, but only available in the United States. Also, Sony will reduce the PlayStation Move motion controller 2-pack to just $79.99 for the sale.
In addition to all of the hardware options, there have already been a number of game titles announced as part of the sale. According to a report from The Verge, among the titles revealed so far will be God of War for $49.99, Gran Turismo Sport for $19.99, MLB The Show 18 for $39.99, Bravo Team for $29.99, as well as Farpoint and The Inpatient for $14.99 each.
The dates for the annual Days of Play event seem to line up with E3, the annual electronics expo held in California. While the press conferences for the big event start on June 9th, the actual E3 show begins Tuesday, June 12th and runs through Thursday, June 14th. Sony will hold their portion of the E3 conference on Monday, June 11th, starting at 9 p.m. Eastern Time or 6 p.m. Pacific Time.
