Healthcare is a business that fluctuates constantly. It presents the leaders in the industry with a number of unique challenges and responsibilities. Memorial Health CEO Maggie Gill has come face to face with all these challenges and responsibilities in the two decades she has been in the healthcare industry. She has taken adequate steps to ensure that her organization offers its clients the best quality in services and care.
Memorial Health Partnership with EON Health
Maggie Gill focuses on forging innovative partnerships to offer clients the best healthcare and services. Gill announced recently their partnership with Eon Health. It is set to introduce a fresh no-premium Medicare Advantage plan that will come with inexpensive prescription co-payments. This plan is expected to be enjoyed by Medicare recipients based in South Carolina and Georgia counties from 2017. The plan will offer recipients with some benefits that are not always available in most no-premium plans like hearing, free transportation and dental. Gill explained that Memorial Health saw a common ground Eon health’s focus on offering preventive care. She believes the focus of the plan on the maintenance of a healthy lifestyle will work towards the success of the plan.
Maggie Gill’s Thoughts on the Health Care System in the face of Changes in the Industry
Maggie Gill recently informed her board that the changes witnessed in the health care environment are bringing about a loss of money to the health care system. This has seen the revenues of Memorial Health go down in recent times. Gill explained that the Pathways to Excellence initiative she unveiled in July had successfully identified about $12.6 million in savings that included $7.6 million from the Premier Incorporated, a healthcare improvement company based in Charlotte, NC. The initiative is part of Memorial Health’s $20 million-a-year plan of action that will seek to provide the provider with results in the next six to eighteen months and strategic opportunities in future.
